After months of multiple appearances together and hints of something more to come, Puerto Rican reggaeton stars Wisin & Yandel have finally pulled the trigger: Yes, they are getting back together for a world tour and to record brand new music.
The official announcement of the reunion comes after a flurry of social media posts in the past week showing Wisin and Yandel together. Another hint came in the form of the new single “Todo comienza en la disco,” where both artists team up with Daddy Yankee.
Now, Wisin (real name Juan Luis Morera Luna) and Yandel (real name Llandel Veguilla Malavé) will perform their first full-length concert together since 2013 with a March 31 date at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheatre in the Dominican Republic. The show will be followed by a full-fledged tour, with shows expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition, the pair will also release music together, likely on Sony Music, which has also been home to both as solo acts.
Wisin & Yandel parted ways amicably in 2013 after an extraordinary run. At the time, they were the top-selling reggaeton group of all time and had 22 tracks reach the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, including ten No. 1 hits, among them “Follow The Leader” with Jennifer Lopez.
The pair were not splitting up, they said at the time. Rather, they were “recording separately.”
The “recording separately” plans coincided with the end of Wisin & Yandel’s contract with Machete/UMLE. Both artists eventually signed as solo acts to Sony Latin, and they also signed publishing deals with Sony ATV. Then, they embarked on successful solo outings.
Wisin released four albums, of which the last, Victory, peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. He also released multiple hit singles, including collaborations with Enrique Iglesias (“Duele el Corazon,” which hit No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs) and most recently, “Amor Amor Amor” with Jennifer Lopez. He also developed as a hit-making producer for acts like CNCO.
On his end, Yandel released three studio albums. Two of them, Dangerous and De Lider a Leyenda, hit No. 1 on Top Latin albums. He also released a live set, with a live concert special that aired on HBO Latino. And like Wisin, he also released a succession of hit singles, both solo tracks and collabs with the likes of Maluma, and last year’s “Como antes,” with….Wisin.
“The respect I have for Yandel is too big,” Wisin told Billboard two years ago. “We’re enjoying this [solo] stage to the fullest. But when we get together, we do things that go global.”
Wisin is managed by Walter Kolm and Yandel by Andy Martinez.
